Research Interest

Research Field Developmetal Biotechnology in Auqacluture, Fish Breeding Science, Fish Physiology
Research Summary Over the past decade, I have been working on introducing TILLING (a breeding technology originally developed for plants) and genome editing into aquaculture fish breeding as innovative improvement techniques. As a result, I successfully developed tiger puffer fish with enhanced meat yield and high growth rates. Additionally, I have been researching sterilization technologies to prevent genetic hybridization between these improved fish and wild populations. Moving forward, I aim to expand these technologies for application to a wider range of aquatic species, conducting comprehensive research from fundamental studies to practical applications.
