Research Interest

Research Field Plant molecular biology, Plant molecular breeding, Plant Biotechnology
Research Summary We develop technologies that contribute to breeding of horticultural crops through research from a molecular biological perspective. Using techniques from plant molecular biology, we are analyzing the functions of genes involved in important traits such as flowering, morphogenesis, flower color, and elucidating plant characteristics. We are also developing next-generation breeding technologies (NBPT) such as genome editing and molecular markers using NGS.
Keywords Flower color, metabolic engineering, genome editing, transposable elements, molecular marker, molecular breeding, flavonoid, betalain, genetic transformation, plant specialized metabolism
